スタンダード・ナンバーを集めた２枚組
８０年代半ばからネルソン・リドルと組んで発表した３枚のジャズアルバム（「What's new」「Lush life」「For sentimental reasons」）を２枚組ＣＤにまとめたお買い得盤。リンダとスタンダード、最初は「ん？」と思ったのですが、聴いていると妙になじんでくるから不思議。「For sentimental reason」はネルソン・リドルの遺作でもあり、聴いていると感慨もひとしお。このころ、ポピュラー・シンガーやロック・シンガーがスタンダード・ナンバーを集めたアルバムを発表するのが流行っていましたが、その中で商業的に最も成功した作品群ではないでしょうか。私としては、モダンジャズの雄をバックに果敢にスタンダードに挑戦し、他の一線を画すアルバムを作り上げたカーリー・サイモンに軍配をあげたい。というわけで星４つ。
